View Full Version : Modeling eyeball, cornea, etc...some help
Mentat7 09-14-2003, 04:18 PM Can anyone tell me what the steps would be in C4D to duplicate this http://www.antropus.com/english/tutoolho2.htm ? I can follow it up until he combines the parts then I run into mud. Thanks!

Can you specify which step (number) you're having the problem with so we don't have to read the whole tutorial?
looking at your renderosity gallery makes me believe, you are experienced enough to work quite good with poly-modelling. iŽd suggest that you use the tutorial just for the principle of the steps you have to make.
do you know the plugin 'cutter'? it creates new edges whithin a polygon-belt. that is usefull for the tiny edge on the eye.

It's not so much the modeling part that I am having trouble with...I can create the seperate pieces well enough. I am having problems getting the seperate materials/shaders on the pieces to work together properly to get that realistic eye look.

Hey bud..am I days late ot what?..lol
I don't know if you solved the problem or not but am I to understand that the materials aren't combining well (using a different mat for each peice...or do you mean the different channel maps?

Hi Mentat7, hi Mahlikus,
I'm more late... :)
But I have modeled an eye after this tutorial and I must say the tutorial is GREAT.
Here is a link of the project file:
http://home.arcor.de/marcus.spranger/eye/eye.c4d
The iris is fully animatable - here are two renderings:
http://home.arcor.de/marcus.spranger/eye/eye1.png
http://home.arcor.de/marcus.spranger/eye/eye2.png
The iris shader is pure SLA. I'm working on a procedural cornea shader, but I'm not sure if I it's possible so perhaps I will paint the cornea veins.
BTW: everybody can use, modify and improve this file as he/she likes.
Have a great time. Ciao,
Marcus
