View Full Version : Maya's new download system SUCKS! (Also, now how can I find that UV-mapping image?)

Hey all...

I've noticed something here recently, and I'm sure I'm not the first: The new Alias website isn't bad overall, but the new download system SUCKS! You have to search by categories, and you have to know exactly where it is, what it's called, and EVERYTHING. --And there's no search feature! WTF? So, there's no way to browse through what they have to offer anymore!

The reason this is so upsetting is because they have an image I am used to using for UV mapping. I don't want to have to hunt it down on an old CD.... It's a multicolored checker-type pattern, with numbers in it. You know the one. You used to be able to get it at Alias. Probably still can, but I don't know the EXACT coordinates and magical combination of mystical drop-menus that will get me to it.

Can anyone help?

a good way to search a site that doesnt have its own search function is to go to google and in there advanced search they have a site search, you just put in what your search term would be and then towards the bottom of the screen theres a form for what site, just put the site address in and search

this may not work for all sites/sites that use multiple servers or so on, but its always worth a try instead of going through all that all the time

Yeah I can't seem to find the files on alias's site. But you're in luck I ran across it while backing up files. uv layout (http://www.bluedragon128.com/util_mark6.tif) This is the square one not the round version. Hope that helps.

Goole toolbar! Yes! I have it. I have yet to use it for that purpose. Thanks for reminding me!
