Hi, I'm trying to attach two subdivs together, and I get odd results. It happens only when I duplicate the first surface using scale X=(-1). Example:
Make half a face, duplicate it using Scale X(or Y or Z - doesn't matter) = (-1), and do Subdivs->Attach. You will see that, if the threshold is big enough, the FARTHEST vertices are trying to connect to each other - not the closest ones...
You can easily reproduce this problem by creating a poly cube (converted to subdivs), removing its left half, duplicating it as above, and trying to attach both parts back together. If, instead of scaling to -1, you rotate it 180 degs, there is no problem. But I can't do this with a non-symmetric surface (like a face).
I've read some of the ways to attach subdivs in Maya (manual/subdiv->attach), that appeared here in the forum, but I couldn't imlement them with my half-face...
Any ideas how to make the attachment work after scaling to -1?
