Hey all.

Just a quick question.

Im working on my major design project. Its a combonation of 2d and 3d animation element, so Im rendering out the 3d at image sequences and compositing them together with the 2d in AE.

Now, when I export the final scenes I want to edit them in Final cut, because Im more comfortable using that program to edit. (been using it for a few years for Video/film, not composting)
So what should I export out of AE as? An image sequence? No compressiong quicktime, DV Pal? Ive tried it a few ways and always seem to lose quality after exporting from FCP.

Im going to show the final on TV and Computer monitor if that helps.

That wasnt really a quick question was it?

Oh, and thanks for all the help Ive had so far on this site.

I always use tga or png (without compression).

I always export to Quicktime files when going to FCP (Use the Animation codec, set on best - its completely lossless compression like PNG, & supports alpha channels)

You are always going to get a slight quality drop when exporting from FCP, as it will compress it to the quicktime DV codec - unless you set your video options to an uncompressed codec - but then your not going to be able to play it back smoothly.
