View Full Version : Character: First 3d Dragon Done!!!
Wicked_Chicken 09-13-2003, 01:16 AM this is my first 3d creature I've really finished. I was hoping you talented artist could tell me if you think anything is wrong with it.
This was done in max 5.1, I've been using it for like 2 weeks or so, been working on it for 2 days...
Thanks!
Benson

its a little too transparent to see any of it.

I think the overall shape looks pretty good for your first dragon. If you could apply texture on it (not so transparent), then the dragon might look better.

Why a transparent dragon? Try practicing texures in 3d studio max and attempt making scales. This is faaar from finished mate!

I really like it. The transparent effect makes it stand out from all the other dragons out there.
Pretty original idea methinks.
Good modelling for someone thats only been doing it a couple of weeks. A wireframe would be nice.
Good job Benson

gehehe...reminds me of Final Fantasy : The Spirits Within ;-)
looks cool, but the model itself isn't really judgable due to the transparancy. as the others said, texture the dragon a bit and post it again :)
anywayz, it's a begin right :buttrock:

The over all shape is good. Like some of the other guys have said you should really texture him. There are a million diff reference pics for dragon textures. It is hard to see any of the detail that you worked on too. You should try to show that off. The dragon also doesn't seem to have legs...IMO you should add legs. Lookin pretty good :)

Yeah. About the transparency, Personally, thats what I was going for. As far as texture, it was SUPOSSED To have one, and either it didnt render or it isnt big enough to see, I'll tweek it an see if I can get it to appear.
Legs I'll add legs. I didn't add the, before maily because I wanted to be diffrent.
I'll work on detail as well.
Thanks everyone for the c&c, i'll work on it.
