An idea..

Have rigidBody nodes in a string array($rigidBodies) then

for ($rigidBody in $rigidBodies) {

float $velZ = `getAttr($rigidBody+".vz")`;

float $totalVelocity = $velX + $velY + $velZ;

setAttr rigidBody1.ignore 1;

how do your gimbals look before the domino's have fallen? In my experience with this it was because the gimbals were not true to the "flat" position of the object , so calculation tries to reach a normalized gimbal even after it comes to rest....also dynamic or static friction boosts may help your situation.

edit...rotational values are fine on your individual dominos but the transforms and scale should be frozen out and aligned along their respective axis.
