I like it!

I did it in XSI 1.5 last year. Inspired by some 2D artist I don't remember. ;)

those big-as-a-man types...

LOL! Seems it was a serious gun.

@Nazgul: Looks nice, like a toy :applause:
The texures are very good, kind of worn-out, chromed plastic.
I want to have this gun in real. :D I love it!
And the rendering is also very good!

:bounce: You should all check out Claus Oldenbergs, ray gun series. He is kind of a dada ist, old 50's sculpture guy. He collected hundreds of items and toys, etc. that all make you think of ray guns.:buttrock:

@Master Zap: YES! This is right! :bounce: You won a signed Zefram Cochrane Biography which will be shipped in the next few days. ;) Yippih!
I had to laugh out loud as she said this and all the people in the cinema turned around. :D
@ila_solomon: Yeah! Bring them guns out! Rayguns are such a beautiful thing to model and render (as Nazgul shows).

Note: I'm NO Trekkie. It's important to me to make this absolutely clear. ;)

Hey wait a minute thats not a raygun ;)

Whats funny with THAT one is that I made that in 1992-ish in MY OWN RENDERER (RayTracker)

Its a long story, check my page for the sad tale of raytracker (http://www.master-zap.com/rtk.html) (once commercial, sold 2 copies, bwahahahaha)

Man.. it doesn't look like much now but back then it must have been very good and as you mention on your website...you would probably made lots of money if your bosses would have been concious of the future of 3D!

So do you do any more 3D these days? With all these renderers coming out, is it tickeling you to make code another one?

Here's a sunglasses smily for your collection..

I do dabble in 3D, somewhat re-bitten by the bug lately, although I'm mainly into music (http://www.master-zap.com/music). Did this thing (http://www.NinaGoddess.com/video2.html), for instance. Oh and some years ago the virtual squirrel (http://www.master-zap.com/sq.html), haha.

I wouldnt dream of coding a renderer today. Shaders, I am working on one. I made a new combined DOF/Motion Blur render-effect-plugin for Max which maintains atmospheres and makes the DOF look a bit better than the DOF render effect supplied...

Also I am losing my current employment in a month so I might take it up. We'll see what life brings ;)

Sweet. Love the surface and style. Looks like maybe not enough smoothing on the top fin cutouts, but otherwise, great design. Makes me want to (re)make one :)
