View Full Version : Vehicle: Beetle Cabrio (help needed)
Jabor 09-11-2003, 05:56 PM I made thi for my girlfriend (Babbi is her nickname), its her dream car...
Done in Lightwave, no plug-ins.
Any tips on how could I make it photorealistic?
PS.: The interior texture is just a test...

The car looks like it's floating, try adding some shadows to your render. Maybe an environment map, good model, keep it comin.

round out the tires some more, and like bishop said add some shadows and give it some background that would help to bring out the car more. not bad vdub model

hm, your model looks good at all..
lighting, reflections and shadows could need some more work and... im no beetle expert but im quite sure the dampers, the front lights and the door handle are not exactly how they look at the beetle..

shadows-yes, add them, but also, and this is not only you, i see this every now and then on renders - the perspective...It looks like you rendered it out in the user view (user view-as in 3d studio max, makes the perspective look funky, but you can work better with your model) try not to use the USER view - EVER, when rendering.
Also, the car may need better paint, more contrast, bigger mirrors on the side, i can also see jagged edges, must bne somethin with the anti aliasing...the back of the car - is it transparent? why is there no "inside", maybe a two sided material will fix this, and inside, where the front wheel is, what's that grey stuff? make the body of the car thicker, not bigger or anything, but now it looks thin as a piece o paper, make it thicker, more like a small book or something (hope you understand what i mean here), the plate on the front also look to thin...make it thicker...
I'll get back to you as soon as you fixed this :shame:
;) ;) ;)
good start, but this needs to be in the W.I.P (work-in-progress) thread.

Hi,,
like they sad shadows. Try to change color of the ground. Gray is too dark. and try with some GI renderers. LW 7 has it.
all the best
