Hello cgtalkers, this is my first time actually posting my work here, my brother introduced me to this site, and what a great site and community it is :)

Heres a logo I finished, I know its not flash (yet) but wanted some crits on it before I go forward and spend time creating it in flash, What it will act as is a preloader, on the back side, then it will spin around and glow a tad to what you see in this pic, then go the the site. of course it will be smaller. the site following it will be the same color sheme, :) anything I can do to improve on it?

I like the design only crits would be to make the background a tad darker so you can better appreciate the glow and change the font coz it isn't clear enough, a logo has to comunicate instantly some info and it takes some time to undecipher "IMBUED"

yeah I agree IMBUED is nearly impossible to read. If you don't want the text to serve a purpose in the design (by being legible) then leave it out altogether.

I do like the icon itself, though. I personally like the glow the way it is... I wouldn't make it stand out more. If you wanted the H to stand out more, though, you could make it thicker or something. Good job, though.

yah your right, i will change the font, hate using DLed fonts, as for the glow, since its not really apart of the logo , and just an effect that will happen in flash i probaly wont change that. thanks for crits ill post it when i change it. :)

Ok, I changed quite abit on the logo itself, instead of using kpt for parts i just used a vary of gradients, brought out the colors more and made it contrast more, looking at the old it seemed kinda dull and flat. and made the text alot smaller. also took out the horizontal glow, it was supposed to be an (i) but I was even mistaking it for an (H) hehe :surprised

Thanks for your time :)

Now I really like it :applause: just one more suggestion what do you think of having the inner part of the logo a different tone, so when you animate it "open" it seems to reveal another solid, plus it could highlight more the "I" ... something along this:

thanks for the comments :) I was maybe thinking of darkening the sides beside the (i) but have it darken in flash, just to set it out. dont want to light stuff to much or it might blend in with the glow too much, want it to be subtile :surprised

well i ditched that logo, tried making a website layout, and found it to hard to work with, so made a new one real quick.

nice to see a lightwave user around here

Do not be fooled, I am a lightwave user no more. Had to switch to max.

BTW, if your using a NEW downloadable font, doesnt that add in quite a bit extra download time for the browser client?
