View Full Version : Auto enter Slave Mode?
Navstar 04-22-2010, 08:40 PM I have modo set to launch when a workstation is restarted.
Is there any way to have a remote workstation automatically enter Slave Mode when modo is launched?
Using a Mac here. Is modo 401 Automator or AppleScript aware?

Heya!
How about a simple script and modo cl? I haven't tried something like that, but it should be possible to start ModoCL and tell Modo to enter the slave mode. Check the scripting manual.
regards.

Old Topic..
Solution: Check the "Scripting_and_Commands.pdf" document and search for slave. There's a chapter "Entering Slave Mode On Startup", that should help you.

Hi! It's in your Modo Install Dir (under help).
Easy way to enter slave modo is to run Modo with the "-slave" argument. For example: "C:\Programme\Luxology\modo 401 sp5\modo.exe" -slave
Modo starts as Slave.
One bad thing is, if your Slave crashes you can't automaticly restart, you have to go to your Client Machine and start Modo aggain.
I tried to start modo remotly from my host but that didn't work.
What works is using a VNC Program (ultra vnc, real vnc..) to start modo on your client.

Thanks for the helpful advice! But I'm at an all-Mac shop here. Know how to start it from a Mac OS X Terminal command?
