Hi, I am days away from paying my enrollment fee to SVA. However I am having second thoughts.
Getting this out of the way: They both gave me about the same amount of scholarship money (just $1,000 more from Ringling). So let's just get money out of the question here, unless it's about living expenses and such.
I took the Community College route and went to a local cc for a year to get my general-ed and some core drawing / design classes out of the way. Now it's time to transfer and I've been accepted to both SVA and Ringling.
I chose to go to SVA because I wanted to do Computer Animation and I chose Game Art and Design at Ringling instead out their Computer Animation program. I've seen both of these school's senior thesis and to me they are both basically on the same level (correct me if I am wrong).
I chose Ringling's Game Art and Design thinking that I'd do everything in their Computer Animation department, just geared towards the video game industry. However from what I've read, this is not the case. From what I've heard, this major is more geared towards actually designing games or environment and asset design. It's sad because I really preffered Ringling's bigger dorm and actual campus and its location.
Anyone know any insight on this?
