Hi guys...
I'm rendering an animation with about 200 frames, and it takes 12 minutes per frame. It means about a day for rendering, so I can't make mistakes.

The problem is that I don't have a decent codec for an animation output, and I want to save the animation or the frames with a good quality.

I need some suggestions.
What is the way that professionals save the master animation? single frames? an animation? which codec compression?

Thanks for help buddies...

What I tend to do on the job is render everything as frames. Targas or RPF's usually. Frames tend to be of better quality and also if the machine crashes, you can start the rendering where it last ended.

Another benefit with rendering single targa files etc.. is you can load them straight in to After effects at any point to check your animation is looking good. Reload the sequence file and it will add the new frames to your comp.

p.s if you have after effects...when importing select the first file in your animation and Make sure you tick the targa sequence box

ciao
