Not exactly sure what you're really asking for, but here goes...
There's Toonshade (http://www.toonshade.com/), a plug-in that will allow you to do pencil shading if you pick the right paint effect brush.
There's cellShader (http://www.highend3d.com/maya/plugins/?group=mayaplugins§ion=rendering#2433) plug-in on Highend3D (The sample image seems self-explanatory)
And there's a pencil sketch shader in denfoGraphics (http://www.denfo.net/i_shaders.asp) Maya shaders collection (but the shaders database seems to be busted right now, so you can't browse the collection...)

There is a Toonshade lite of sorts...
I never got it installed yet but it looked intresting...

i knew about the ones over at Highend, the shader im looking for is one that mimics sketch/drawing type thing :)
