Hi forum members!

I`m trying for some time now to upload my 3d animation in the best possible format on Vimeo and You-tube but with no success so far. I had seen various opinions which format are best and on the help section of these two it is mentioned that I need to use MP4/H264 and ACC profile for the sound . Well I had tried that and I still get terrible artifacts that ruin my hard work ( strange "cut" lines at different points of the video, also distortion strips and flickers are all over it):

I was wondering is this made on purpose so I neeed to buy Vimeo PLus or advance Youtube account to have nice quality videos or the problem is within my compression. I had tried numerious compressions soft-wares and ( I got master 5GB file out of After Effects with no compression and I`m working from it) and whatnot but nothing helps. These artefacts are always present.

please help ! Any advice will be appreciate.

Thanks.

Cut lines? distortion strips? youll need to explain what these problems are. Do you mean a horizontal line at 0:28 for example?

Hi ,

Thanks for replying to this. Maybe these artifacts appear on different places of the video depending on specifics of the browser and PC you are using to view them but for me for instance between 10-th and 14-th seconds of the video ( when the camera is making a turn over the tree) I see a lot of these artifacts at the bottom part of the video. I would describe the issue as "cutting the image like" Effect which is very visible and disturbing. I`m wondering is this thing called Interlacing... sorry if this is stupid question but I`m not familiar still with some of the video terms. Do you see now what I`m referring to ?

Thanks.
Alex

I really dont see any problem. The only thing I can imagine is the video isnt synced to your screen, especially as you said this changes on different computers.

youtube will limit the data rate for the video, things like trees, grass and so on are very noisy and detailed, so to keep the data rate down these areas (especially parts of high colour saturation) will get blurred and blocky. The premium accounts may offer higher data rates, cant really tell you im afraid.

Thanks a lot for your attention to this situation. Maybe the problem is in my video card or monitor....

I can.. They dont. You cant use Vimeo or Youtube to deliver video reliably and I have the yearly premium account.. they ruin all my stuff that needs to stream flawlessly like slowmo effects.. if you want reliable delivery you gotta pay a host like Brightcove
