Hey guys, I'm just wondering if anyone knows of a method to render muscle fibers (like ecorche) without hand drawing each line? Perhaps some kind of brush that would speed of the process?

I'm talking about something like this...

Hand draw each line. Make a big section of fiber you like.

Then cut off strips of it and use the warp tool to shape it and lay it down.

Then highlight and shade it using your favorite dodge and burn technique.

Give a try to the pattern creation. You can make a quite big and complex pattern than use it in the way to repeat it on your shape...than, like JFrancis said, try warping it around ti shape it better...also try with liquify tool in the way to change the shape of individual lines.

Maybe this can be useful and speedup the process, of course, hand drawn stuff is much more better.
