Hey guys, It's been a year from the last challenge I participated on; like Voltron, I always wanted to make a Great White but never got around to it so here I come, let's see how far I can actually get from finishing.

Nice, good to see you back. If this turns out anything like your Voltron, this should be an awesome model. Best of luck Angel.

Thanks guys, well I HAD plenty of reference but it seems like I'll have to gather reference all over again; at least it is something that is easy to find reference for.

I hoped someone would make that supreme predator of the seas. Waiting to see what you will do with this badass fish!

*shakes head in shame* well, finally gathered new awesome reference material and will get into modeling this week. Clock is ticking.

I think I'll go for a scene from a cage diver perspective; that should be interesting.

Cool, best of luck Angel, you'll be alright, still a month or so left. You can always just quit your job or something.

for personal reasons for the first time ever, it seems like I won't be able to finish this challenge. Good luck to you all, maybe I'll finish it some day ;) :wip:

Dang! :( Well best of luck getting through whatever it is that's taking up your time! There's a few challenges I haven't been able to finish either due to annoying ol' "life" :)

had some downtime at work so I used it wisely ;)
Here is what I have so far, I still think I won't be able to finish but I thought to post what I had anyway.

Dude, I'm so busted lol Things slowed down at work and instead of browsing the net all day this exercise is keeping me on my toes ;)

BTW I can't beat Zeus, he kicks my ass every time.

Angel is your avatar Goldorak? If so that's pretty freaking awesome!

hope to see more on your great white. Love the little scars scattered all over. Adds great realism. What technique did you use to scuff up the tail edge? Can never manage to get that look, and I kinda need to a little for my turtle.

Hi Joel, my avatar is Mazinger Z, FTW!

For the ragged edges I use a brush called Dam_Standard, it is one of my favorite brushes!
The author's name is Damien Canderle; I did a quick search in ZBrush Central and found it on the bottom of the page. http://www.pixolator.com/showthread.php?t=69176

I used the brush with symmetry on for the basic ragged edge then I used move to pull in and out some of the tips to make it more random, anyway, once you start playing with the brush you will see and you will love it ;)

I know dam standard quite well, as it turns out. Cannot do any ZB without it, really. What was your technique? did you just carve in and then rework? I just never thought of using it in that fashion. Only really use it for muscle definition and some of the bigger wrinkles in the face area. I'll play around with it for sure, though. Thanks.

Thanks Tim!
Here I tweaked the diffuse map, applied a diffuse weight map, and a specular weight map; added textures for the eyes and teeth. Still no lighting work.

Well, here it is, I'm afraid that I don't have much time to keep working on this, all I have to do is render the ortho views but as always c&c are always welcomed.

Damn, very nice beauty render angel. Hoping you won't mind showing us a render/composite breakdown at some point.

Yeah I can come up with a making of type deal but as I said in Twitter, it might take some time since I'm working on something that takes priority over everything.

Here is the last and final update, I added some fish for better sense of scale and added the rope hanging from the mouth because I thought it was cool lol

I know the deadline has been extended a little but I am done with this, I can not dedicate more time to it and thus here are my required images. Perhaps Roberto can change my entry thread title to "Single Character" cause this isn't really a diorama, anyways here we go.
