Hi all... I have a question about Reference file system... (I'm switching to xsi from 3dsmax)

As you maybe know I use 3dsmax (crap program), and it does have a Reference file system (X-refs). It is ok, for simlpe use. Like importing a character with bones (lets say Rig.max file) and animate him in another file (Lets say Animation shot2.max file). Then i can allways go back and edit the Rig file an it will be updated in all animation shot files....BUT.. then we crash and so on.. if I create a reference file system like this on. It just go down:

How can I create something similar in XSI. Question goes on reference scenes that can be updated in other files

yes you can. I suggest that you take a look at the reference model video that Softimage has made (showing a few new things in 3.5).

http://www.softimage.com/Products/Xsi/v3/NFVT/default.asp

And you have a ton of other videos there too which shows you some workflows. Animation can always be saved out as a separate file and used on another rig or character as long as they have the same naming convention.
