bobzilla 09-10-2003, 12:41 PM I have finally got a short walk cycle for my dino, but I have no means of posting it. Can someone be gratious enough to post it for me? It's 1.1mb QT file.
Thanks in advance.

Here is Bobzilla's
Dino walk cycle
http://66.70.166.29/promo/dinowalk.mov
as to mine, its a fairly complex set up of standard C4D particles
gravity objects and deflectors( im still on C4D version7.3.3 for
technical CA reasons)
The final will feature him lumbering through shallow water.
thanks

Looks great BobZilla! Is that your model too? Any soft IK?
I might add a swagger to the tail and have the motion of the arms a bit more asymmetrical.

Nice job so far BobZilla! Perhaps a little "bob" and sway add to the head would give it more weight. :)

Nice work Bob!!!
I have a few critiques!
1- first of all i'd slow the motion a bit... is a too fast walk.
2- that dino is supposed to be heavy... VERY heavy, so i'd add pause between each step. Actually it'd be nice to have an anticipation movement for each step... let me explain... Before to start the step i'd add a lil backward and down movement, than i'd have the hips bouncing a little off-the step, maybe a couple of frames later (at the step end i mean).
3- a more visible tail movement.
4- even if the leg movement is very accurate, when the leg is moving up, the foot should rotate inward!
head and arms movement is very good.
Actually what i mean is to give him a more HEAVY looking walkcycle, adding a foot inward rotation and a more visible tail movement!
Very good start!
It's a good deal to have some duplicate frame (with soft interpolation) to obtain that heavy effect... like if (when the step is endin) he is hardly controlling the fall!!
Hope this helps!!!
hmm I have to agree with san 100 %
but it looks great.

Thanks, gang! Just the stuff I was looking for.
sanciok: I basically did a verbatim average walk cycle, so, yes, it's too fast, and I do need to show more weight. This guy in particular is about 1.5 to 2 tons, so he needs to be a little more deliberate in his steps.
I used Soft IK only on the tail. I have to experiment a little with the settings. I think I need more frames to get the tail to wag and settle. It needs more time to do that.
This is my first animation, so I just basically followed a "recipe" from the Animator's Survival Guide.
Thanks again, everyone.
And yes, I made the model and did the rigging myself. Also did textures (which I posted a while back) but he's naked here for speed purposes.
