View Full Version : are these bugs in r 8.2 or am I stupid?
DELTAadmin 09-10-2003, 10:45 AM - In the material manager I can not switch to horizontal view contrary to the 8.2 addendum where it says click on material in the edit menu to switch from vertical.
- The multy mouse support (maya like viewport handling)somehow lacks contrary the addendum, and in the prefs I am not able to find a hint on it

These 2 functions work fine in BodyPaint2 demo, but not in the r 8.2 update

my mouse isn't recognized as well (it wasn't by 8.1 but i thought that V8.2 would do it as announced). The only good point (beside the wonderfull improvement on material manager and so) is that my stylus is recognized now.
it's maybe just the macintosh - wacom intuous II - c4d relationship that mess around; i'll keep on using my old habits with the keyboard

You'll find the different arrangements for the material manager in the Material->Edit menu.
I'm not sure what you mean by "multy mouse support somehow lacks".

I know the command, and where it is located, but surely it does not behaves as described in the manual addon, and in Bodypaint 2.
When u click on it it arranges the materials to normal-horizontal position in BP 2 not so in r 8.2
In BP2 if u use alt+right, middle or left button in the viewport u can rotate pan or zoom in the viewport as in Maya, the addendum hints it also but nowhere an option to activate it in 8.2, plus it says u can configure the buttons up to five buttons, where can I do it?

It's not an option, you don't have to activate it, it's already there added to the normal navigation (1,2,3+lmb). About the 5 buttons... just look in the command manager.

As ThirdEye said, you can set up hotkeys as normal, but now you can also use up to five mouse buttons in combination with other keys. For Maya-type orbiting: Edit->Preferences->Common->Reverse Orbit.

in the command manager you'll find the navigation controls under the HOTKEY list not in the all commands list.
As for the material manager it works perfectly fine for me two options, material list and material. Material is the old style on, material list is the vertical list. Are you using the demo or an updated version of 8.2?

I had the same problem with the materialmanager (only list-presentation), after a fresh installation (8XL+BP1+8.2update+LanguageInstaller) it now works as described.
I also asked maxon-support about this yesterday, maybe there is an easier solution...

Where can I find the QuickLight Dialog? I browsed through the addendum but couldn't find it.
Cheers,

I've reinstalled the Software from ground up, and everything works fine.

O.K., ignore this, I found it. I should only read manuals when really awake :(

Even the viewport functions and the material manager work fine without any manual tweaking in the command manager
