I created a cyborg type model that is part organic flesh and part machine, and I want to render it in mental ray using ss scattering for the flesh and a metal material for the machinery. However, to create the machine look I wanted it to appear as though the machinery were extruding from the flesh, so I sculpted them in using custom alphas in zbrush, as opposed to using subtools.
