This is a model I'm working on, a tattoo machine.
My problem is that hypernurbs isn't appropriate for the frame as it gives strange artifacts and is all around smoothe4r than needed.
I used hypernurbs for the 2 coils and the tube assembly without incident.
So for the frame I built it using straight poly modeling, then selected the edges to bevel in edge mode and beveled them.
Which is almost right, but there's some strangeness at certain parts after the edges are beveled.
I then use the edge selection I have after the bevel with the "break phong shading" command.
What I'm wondering is if this is an intelligent way to do the bevels?
Is there a better way?
