Above are my specs for alienware m17x which i was thinking to buy. is it enough for using 3dsmax for architecture visualization? I'm not sure the graphic card ATI Radeom Mobility HD 4870 is enough.. any ideas?

I think there might be better alternatives to an Alienware laptop. How much is that configured?

its is malaysia ringgit RM8559. so is it ok for doing 3dsmax? not sure is the graphic card ok for that..

A lot of people here recommend Nvidia cards when working in 3d applications. Do you have access to other different laptop manufacturers? Take a look at a Sager NP8760 if you have one available to you.
