Hey all, I need some help with some surface tool, I do not know which tool to use, but I think the birail "#" tools.

I'm making this space ship and I want to "fill" the top part of it.

I have 2 screens here, 1 before sing birail 2 and one after, I don't get the right resualt.

Before:

And after:

http://w1.853.telia.com/~u85319457/ship2.gif

As you can see it only making a surface in the middle of the top, I want it to make a surface over the whole top and having that form.

How would I do this? Any other good ways?

Thanks in advance

(and yes, it is a bit similar to some ships i Episode 2, but that's the whole point, I'm making a Episode 2 inspired picture. Damn that movie was inspiring)

cut and attach the hole top curve so that you get the curves with the end points i have drawn. you should end up with a curve on each of the three four sided surfaces. then select the 4 boundary curves and surface-boundary (or square if you have it :) ) you then have 3 surfaces. rebuild each surface with the following options

parameter range : 0 to #Spans
direction : U and V
Keep : NumSpans

then the surfaces will be distributed more nice.

you can then try to attach, or with the square surface align the tangents to each surface.

a suggestion

you should also draw split lines which will give the top surface a curvature like profile. the way you do it now, it's flat.

ohh no, it's not flat, i have to clean my glasses
:hmm::D sorry

Thanks ALLOT!!
I've now learned a new workflow with NURBS...I was so sure this was going to be done with Birail...guess I had wrong.
