Hey all,
So I'm new to rigging, and I'm trying to setup what I assume is a bit more complex of a rig in 3DS max for a project I'm working on. Basically I'm trying to rig letters as if they were characters, one of the letters being the letter "b".
I understand creating bones and the spline/HI solvers, and plan to use a combination of the two. But, trying to rig these as characters, I want to give them a lot of life...bouncy, squishy, squashy, and stretchy. My general question is, how do I accomplish that level of deformation/flexibility after adding in bones?
A more focused question I am dealing with at the moment is I am having trouble with connections between bones. I can make a chain routing off in one direction, (from the ascender of the "b" and out around the curve, but if I try to make it a split with an added chain following the rest of the ascender down, I lose the connection in the chain. I've tried connecting the bones in various directions/orders but cannot get them to stick. Is there a general rule or is this even possible?
Any help, guidance, or tutorials to watch are greatly appreciated!
Thanks in advance!
