View Full Version : Outliner 2.0 free scene management tool for 3ds Max

04-14-2010, 01:08 PM
The Outliner 2.0 is a fast and easy to use scene management tool. It has a wide range of features, including selecting, hiding, freezing, linking and grouping objects in the "Hierarchy Mode". In the "Layer Mode" you can organize your scene by dragging&dropping objects from one layer to the other. What's more, the Outliner offers support for nested layers, to manage scenes more efficiently. The interface is nimble enough to keep it open constantly.

For those of you who are familiar with previous version of the Outliner, and are wondering what changed: almost everything. Hugely increased performance, improved stability, a more compact UI, nested layer support and many tweaks to improve the ease of use. Hi Pierre,

Still working on your Outliner. Nice! Since the new Scene Explorer I change the defaults to the old hierarchy which I prefer because it is fast. I will try your Outliner :-D

There are some jobs still listed at 3dhype.com (in the Netherlands of course)

I have to say that I had expected some more responses here too...

Sometimes the seemingly simple can be underrated.

Outliner-2 has really mad things a lot easier for me.

Well I'm sure alot of potential posters are like me. Already saw this posted in the 3dsmax subforum, and posted their support and appreciation. Doing it here again would just be superfluous.

Thank you. I will try it. I also think max scene explorer is slow and sucks!

Cute toolHehe yes it started out as "making the maya outliner in max", but it's grown to become much more than just "maya's outliner in max". The whole layer management mode for example.
