View Full Version : Effects on UV by Making Changes to Editable Poly in 3ds Max reversible?

Hello all,

After texturing, I clicked on editable poly in the modifier box to make some changes - this completely messed up my UV I did with the unwrap UVW modifier. Is this reversible? I did not save a version of the UVW and can't reload it. Is there some way I can get my original UVW back? My texture is all in the wrong places now.

I'm pretty new to to this and would really appreciate any advise/solutions with regards to this. Thanks much in advance.

I don't think you can retrieve your UV if it got messed up after you goes to edit your model. The only option here is to go ahead and check if you have any backup copy in the autoback folder with the UV unwrap still intack.

Make it a habit to collapse your UV unwrap every time you wish to go and modify your model. That's what I learn after the same mistake as yours.

You can also try out some plug-in like textool or roadkill UV tool which saves you lots of time unwrapping.
