I get an error "unable to convert: undefined to type: mesh"
I have a simple particle system with some instanced geo to it. A simple debris effect.
so weird why I'm getting this.

It works as it should here, although if I turn off the shape operator I can get that exact same error. Maybe try replacing your current shape op with a fresh one?

hmm interesting.
So I should have said I have a split amount splitting into 4 different shape instances...it doesn't seem to like this. I got rid of the other 3 and it seems to want to work.
Kind of sucks though..doesn't really make sense

for now..I can just bake out each even seperately and it seems to work.

You could also try Galagasts Bake Script, I haven't tried it with the scenerio you have mentioned but his version works on event level.
it is here: post #4 Tera Pflow Baker

I just tested Jeff's script with a simple scene 4 events, event 1 has the birth, speed, two split amounts, and a trailing send out, the three preceding events have their own shape instance, 1 with a box and volume breaker applied (to test shape instance by object elements), another with a teapot, and the third with a torus.
Seem to work just fine, in fact I don't even get the slight offset that I was recieving with the other bake script.

Cool :) It is definitely a hidden gem, I don't think Jeff has that posted anywhere else, I am thankful he originally posted it, he had some code in it that I used to figure out how to get another script working.

Hi,
I just uploaded an update to the PFlow Baker script that fixes the error you were getting. It now works on max 2010 and 2011.
You can get it here: http://www.oferz.com/maxscripts.php#PFlowBaker or at scriptspot
Cheers,
