Hey

I have tried searching the forum but it keeps timing out for me. I'm sure this must have been answered before....

using the position object op it will emit particles from the linked dependants also. Even if there not in the list within the position object operator.

There has to be tick box or way round this. I think im just having a meltdown right now!?! :S

Thanks

Mike

What's the problem in just using select dependencies and putting them in the pos object list?

I only want them on the parent not the dependants.

its fine only having them on the dependants.

my workaround right now is having a duplicated emitter object. but having to have extra geo seems a bit crude.

Try using some helpers (point or dummy) to build your heirarchy instead of your emitter objects. This way all your dependecies are tied to the helpers themselves instead of your emitter objects.

Here is a simple example using 2 teapots, 2 point helpers (one of which is attached to a Path Constraint)

Basically Teapot01 is linked to Point01 which is bound to Spline01 via a Path Constraint for its motion, Teapot02 is linked to Point02. Point02 is then linked to Point01.
