Hick is a CG Short Film by artists and animators around the world as a collaborative online project currently searching for even more creative characters who would like to help out.
We're looking for experienced professionals as well as artists just starting out who want to learn and stretch their wings. Even the weekend dabbler with raw talent is fine. Hopefully at Hick there's a role for everyone.
We're hoping to tour the festival circuit at the end of production with a beautiful and entertaining film. My role is managing the team, helping out on the technical and artistic sides of the workload where needed, directing the acting and animation, as well as style choices and then promoting the final product so that everyone involved can be proud of what we've accomplished together.
So here's what the movie is about::* Joleen, in her 8th month of pregnancy stops into the local pub on a rainy sunday afternoon for a glass of water to cure her hiccups. Each of the regulars, drinking inside, are eager to try out their home remedys on her as she's become their helpless guinnea-pig. Madness ensues and it's not a forgettable Sunday afterall.

Genre: Dark Comedy
Running Length: 5 – 6 min
3D Software: Maya, Zbrush
Current status of project:
Pre-production is almost complete.*
67 collaborators
The script, storyboard and animatic are all ready to go.*
The sets and characters are all designed and* modeled. 50% are rigged.*
The vocal tracks are all recorded.*
We are currently laying out more shots for animators.
12 shots are already in animation.
We're mostly looking for:
Animators*
Cloth Specialist
Hair Specialist
Texture artists
Rendering Experts
Tds
But any artistic character is welcome to help mold the direction of the film.
The finished project will be touring festivals in Europe, North America and the rest of the world.* All artists working on the project will be credited based on the work that they perform and I'm happy to give references.* I'm hoping to find passionate people to work with on this film in order to work with them again in the future. The scope of the project isn't to get free help from a whole load of people and then to slap my name all over the film. It's really to learn from eachother and end up with a quality product that we can all be proud of.
