So, Pixelcorps have a nice deal on at the moment, and the idea of joining intrigues me. Is anyone a member and can offer an insight into what it's like? I'm a bit of a vfx beginner, and would like to learn more about things, in a more relaxed way than a class at FXPhd might offer.

For the price I can't see not joining. They're in the process of reworking a lot of things so I can't tell you exactly what's going to happen in the upcoming months, but I've been a member for several years and if nothing else the contacts I've made are invaluable. There's also very nice software discounts offered pretty often.
