"When it rains it pours."

This is really my first human character.
I'm continuing to employ the same technique I used on my DEATHBOT (http://www.cgtalk.com/showthread.php?s=&postid=819836#post819836)... I'm really enjoying this approach!

The original character is probably the least finished. I'll be working on him more, definitely. He seems Canadian to me.:)

Everthing else is an offshoot. Once the ideas started coming, I was loathe to resist them. I think everything is sortuv self-explanatory...

The GORILLA Suit's legs and boots don't sit perfectly well with me. The legs seem like they wouldn't get you around very quickly, and the boots aren't quite consistent stylistically w/ the rest of the suit. But I like it anyways.

The DEATHBRINGER Arms that you see on the backs of the evil-robot dude and the GORILLA Suit at bottom came directly from my nearly-finished DEATHBOT (http://www.cgtalk.com/showthread.php?s=&postid=819836#post819836). The only thing I really added to them were a coupluv binocular optic sensors, cuz I figure such a device would have to have some intelligent computer-assist.

Comments/Crits are hoped for!

Nothing? The only response I've gotten to these so far is my housemate describing the GORILLA Suit as "icky".

Have I somehow slipped a Sci-Fi aesthetic gear and created something that's just "icky" but I'm so juiced up on the exhaust coming in through the window that I can't see I've simply crapped my pants?

Anyone?

Boy, traffic sure seems to be down.
Maybe everybody's out at the lakes and amusement parks...

Dear William:
Hello again! =o) When I saw the very first pic, the man's face was the first thing I noticed, and I couldn't help but grin at it. Something about the expression on his face I rather liked. When I scrolled to the second picture, I was momentarily taken aback by the sudden homicidal shift. =o)

Proportionately speaking, though, the man is severly off. It you rotated his upper arm down, it'd be the length of his entire midsection, and the tips of his fingers would touch his kneecaps. The elbow should roughly go no further than his thorax/ribcage. The man is also only 6 heads high, so I think you deprived him a bit in his abdomin. The combination of the vest and how far out his arms are make his chest seem absurdly wide. Without the vest, he could be accurate, I'm not sure, but as it is he seems off there, too.

The yellow in the arms in the third pic doesn't really go well, and sticks out like a sore thumb. It almost lookes like he has two disposable cameras on his shoulders. =o)

Now, as for the gorilla suit, there are a couple of things that are holding it back. The combination of no waist, massively wide shoulders, and pigeon-toed stance really give the suit a squat absurdity. More of a waist would help a lot, and positioning the feet in a dynamic position would add to it. You might even want to do something a little more creative with the feet, like have the man's lower half rest in tank treads, or four robotic legs and some sort of cylinder compartment for his legs. Or if you keep with the boot look, try and match them to the spheriod and rounded look of the rest of him. Finally, pulling in the arms a bit might also help in making him look less 'bulky', though if you do any or all of the other potential changes they may look fine.

Finally, in the last pic, the yellow again sticks out, and the blue lights have a pixelated edge to them.

Anywho, these are just my opinions; I hope they help in some way. Overall it's looking good, keep at it. Good luck! =o)
