View Full Version : ShaderLibrary and Mental Ray not found

I installed Maya 5 (unlimited) and although I have the option to render with Maya Software, Maya Hardware and Maya Vector, I don't have any MentalRay rendering. The mental ray folder is available in the Program Files\AliasWavefront\Maya5.0 folder....

Also (and I suspect this is a related issue), my ShaderLibrary shows up empty in the HyperShade.

I'm thinking that somehow, Maya is not mapping where these two parts are, and thus doesn't give me access to them when I start Maya up.

Any suggestions on how to fix this? I've tried reinstalling the shaders from the CD; but that doesn't fix the problem.

Thanks,
Spoon

Doh! Realized I hadn't activated Mayatomr in the Plugins manager. So that's fixed.

But....still can't find the shader library....any hints..?

Uninstall Shader Lib > Restart PC > Re-install, it works here :)
If it still doesn't work, you could add System Path Environment
Variable name : MAYA_SHADER_LIBRARY_PATH
Variable value : your Maya shader path (ie e:\aw\shaderlibrary\shaders)
:)
