CGTalk - Video Edit Cards?

Does anyone using a video edit card here with combustion?
Is it really necessary to have one with frame buffer to increase the performance?

I am using an athlon 1300 sys with 512 ram and my system stucks on a tv size video bigger than 30 secs.
What should I do?

Combustion requires a whole lot of Ram, using a Video capture board like DPS reality will not speed up performance, but you will have a framebuffer to output to a NTSC or PAL Moniter.
