Hiho,

a (one of the) thing(s), I never found out in AFX 5.5PB is the possibility to aplly effects only on other effects (of the same Layer and of other Layers/Compos).

Example:
I have a a ball jumping around, now I apply a glow-Effects to it. How could I just blur the glow-effects, not the complete ball with the glow.

Til now, i rendered out the glow with alpha, blurred it and then re-imported it.

Any solutions/tips

Sounds like you're going at this problem the wrong way, all you ever do is apply a filter to the currently rendered image, you stack them on top, what you want to do is create your own glow effect in a separate layer so that you can blur it all you wish.

For example, duplicate your ball layer, add a Levels effect, pull the handles to pull out the bright parts of it, it will look bad and have a lot of banding, now set the layer to Add transfer mode and add a Blur effect. That's pretty much what glow does for you in the first place. Use the levels to control 'threshold' and 'strength' and use the blur for softness.

This is a simple example, but it's the way you have to think about creating effects, and plugins will rarely be the answer, which is good :)
