View Full Version : Just got modo... now what?
Navstar 04-06-2010, 06:56 PM Just got modo 401 yesterday! Really excited.
What's the best place to start learning the interface and getting around? I'm coming from Cinema4D.

Nice
I think you should start with a few good books or with 3d garages Modo 401 Signature Courseware.
Good luck with that buddy

Congratulations! :) you have lots of free and good tutorialvideos at Luxology-TV you can watch and learn from, also make use of the forum, there's plenty of free knowledge there you can absorb.

In modo go to Help>Documentation>Reference. Then go through the getting started section. It will give you a good introduction and take you through the process of creating and rendering a cup. The exercise is simple and quick and should introduce you to the modo work flow. After that I would go through the reference and watch some of the excellent videos it links to.

Sports Shoe Modeling, Texturing and Rendering (http://www.luxology.com/store/02_shoe_modeling/) is probably the best single training video for learning modo, and it's only $20!!!
It was made with an earlier version of modo, but is still applicable to version 401. There is a also a Sports Shoe Support Thread (http://forums.luxology.com/discussion/topic.aspx?id=15675) on the Luxology Forum.
