View Full Version : Enchanted Forest - environment - L0rd
" Every May, just as the southern winter arrives - the Drifen trees migrate north to take shelter from the harsh southerly winds in the bays and inlets of Bringlum. There they dip their roots in the rivers and streams and doze until spring. "
"Can I play too?" he said, with a look of wild excitement.
And so he dipped his pen in the pottle of ink and began madly scribbling pictures of trees and forests and rocky outcrops and the like.

Is that a hobbit hole underneith..?
In a hole in the bank beneath an old Oak was the caretaker's cottage. His little round living room window overlooked the brook that wound through the forest......

Dang, I wish I'd though of that. Heh. Lucky bugger! I'd love to see how this turns out...
The time in a day is short and I have only one set of 'me'! Wish there was a "Clone Self" button.
Anyways, I've been sketching and drawing, and decided that I had these migrating trees all wrong. They're supposed to be tall, slender trees with branches that reach upward.
So here's a picture I drew to explain.....
Perhaps I'll find an extra couple of hours hidden away in wednesday for more modeling!

I dream to draw like you do ! excellent !
Hi all,
3d is on it's way, I hope to have something up by the end of today. I've started working with Lightwave, having jumped ship from 3ds Max, still finding my way with the new work flow, starting to get up to speed.
and thanks for all your compliments.

Very interesting sketches. Hopefully your 3D implementation does them justice.
-------"Hopefully your 3D implementation does them justice."--------
Yeah little nervous about that too......
being that this is my first challenge entry ever!
Like i said I'm trying to get my head around Lightwave modeling workflow,
And meet some extended deadlines at work. Will it never end?

Humm thats a hard one...I hope it steadys out...
Maybe you need to pack up your computer and off load your current work onto another poor sap, and go home and sleep. If you take yo9ur comp home then you can keep working on this ya know..(God bless Lightwave and their lovely little Dongles)
Anyway I looking over your shoulder right now and the 3d stuf is looking pretty sweet, I hope you can share that with the rest of the world soon.
(Packs up his computer and sneaks off home before someone chooses him to offload their work onto)
OK so I bite the bullet and post something. There's still plenty of stuff I'd like to do, few more smaller branches tidy up some of it.
Blah blah,
but I have to make more trees, and how many will I need in the end, how detailed will they need to be? Some many questions! And I've got to texture it all..........

Very nice trees. They stick to the concept sketch really well. I'm seeing a couple of places that will need some minor tweaking, but overall those are some dandy looking trees there buddy!:D
Yes tweaks to those twigs Zr0-1!
But I want to make more trees before the tweaks 'cos i'm impatient!
