I don't mean to be a pain... but I have a couple of characters jumping up and down dying to be jumping up and down... but since I have no MOCCA... well, you get the idea.

Are there any updates on fbx support for MB?

thanks!

Well buy Mocca then, it's been available for a year :D

J/k, nobody will ever tell you anything about that plugin, the only thing you'll have as an answer is "we're workin on it, be patient"

I recently talked to my contact at maxon a few days ago and was told that it was in development...no release date yet. I'm waiting for it too.

There are other solutions for rigging in C4D than MOCCA.

What kind of charatcers are youtrying to rig? If you want I can send you a sample of what I am talking about.

e-mail me if you are interested

There is a long, long line of people behind you wanting to know the answer as well - after months with the "we're workin on it, be patient" answer at best. I too would love to have fbx support - the sooner the better - but not buggy and disfunctional, which leads back to the beeing patient part. I want Maxon quality!
Iīve spent a lot of time on rigging (and Mocca) lately - I would probably not have taken the time if .fbx was available and would have missed out on understanding basic principles of rigging. So - oddly enough - Iīm happy itīs delayed. Gave me the opportunity to get the fundamentals straightened out. Like Stray, I recommend you use the time to explore the possibilities at hand - itīll help you when dealing with MB too.

Not the kind of answers you had hoped for in this thread, I know, but point beeing thereīs so much to learn that itīll easily get you through the wait.

Cheers

mmmm... bummer!

But I agree.... I'm so happy since I've switched to C4D that to wait for MAXON quality makes sense...

I already have these characters with bones and weight maps (so I can pose them...) but I've found out that ik's and constraints without MOCCA is probably not worth playing around too much with.

Anyway... the wait will help me to concentrate on modeling a bit more. I won't ask again (maybe until mid-October)...I promise....

in the meantime... and as the MCP would say...

Hi Rev.,

I don't have MOCCA too. But you can get some good
rigs without MOCCA. I have made a new rig for my
doll character without MOCCA. I you like I can post
the file. You will need the MultiTarget plugin. It is a
good alternate for upvectors. What I really miss is
the MOCCA bone tool. Fine adjustments of the bones
without is a pain I think.

cheers, Bob

If you haven't already, you might want to check the bone structure and naming that MB requires for autorigging. That way you'll be just a click away whenever fbx makes an appearance.

Thanks Adam... they are rigged and named according to 3DBuzz's instructions... just a click away! i may even start animating skeletons in MB and then just mirror them to whatever comes out of C4D with fbx.

Hye Bobtronic & Stray ... thanks. if we don't hear from Maxon in a few weeks, you will definitely hear a new cry for help.
