Hi folks.
The other night I watched the falloff video from the modo user group's meeting with Curt Thurston. It was a great lecture and I learned a lot from it.
I noticed however that curt was in "component" mode all the time. I use falloffs quite often to actually move meshes around in "item" mode. There are also several pitfalls for new users with regards to item mode vs component modes that it took a long time before I managed to demystify. So I though that all this would make a great extra video tutorial.
You can find the tutorial here:
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=stsukRTYwls (part 1)
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=76r95S3d6K8 (part 2)
In this video I cover several problems that a new user will encounter that relates to item mode and component modes and how to understand and work around them.
I also show how to influence geometry on the item level using falloffs.
I hope this will save a few people from headaches. :)
