I am using maya and after effects, I know that it is possible to render out motion blur in maya. However I would like to add motionblur in post, are there any free plug ins that i can use, or is there method I can use in after effects that can add motion blur with the standard after effects plug ins.

What's not there, is not there. You will need to buy Reel Smart Motion Blur.

You can cheat it with CC Force Motion Blur, which ships with AE.

The proper way is to do what Mylenium suggests, but this is a decent cheat.

See the bottom of this page (http://help.adobe.com/en_US/AfterEffects/9.0/WS3878526689cb91655866c1103906c6dea-7d5ca.html) for a tip on how to use the Timewarp effect to do much the same thing that RSMB does.

Thanks for the tip Todd - how effective is this method compared to RSMB?
