View Full Version : Question about modelling a complex building-wall in 3ds

Hey all,

I'm trying to modell the wall you can see in the picture.

I started with a plane and the plan was to get all the details by cutting and extruding.

My problem is the window.

Is there a way to cut out basic shapes, like circles for example, without using boolean?

Do not just cut out. All the arcs and bows in that window can be done with lofting or using the sweep modifier. They are the trickiest part, so start with them, extrude to the outside and add the rest of the details with pBp modeling.

Haven't thought about using lofts, good point.
I never used it before, but I'll give it a try this way.
