Hi guys,

I have a hot key for the render region to try to speed up the workflow but it really doen't speed up the workflow because every time I change an atribute in the channel box or atribute editor I need to select a viewport for the hot key to work.

How can I setup a render region hot key so that I don't need to select a viewport everytime I change something in the CB or AE?

By the way, I d'like to know how to setup a hotkey for Play/Stop/Go to min frame the same way, so that I don't need to select a viewport before I hit the hot key?

Please, somebody help me!:annoyed:

Roger

You can select the panel first as part of the script. Use the setFocus command. If you dont know the panel name, use getPanel -withFocus

Oops, didnt read your post carefully enough.

Hotkeys dont work when Mel windows have focus. This is a stupid annoying braindead limitation in Maya and whoever is responsible for it at AW should be ashamed of himself

I believe it might be possible to create a scriptJob that is active when your mel window is open, that will automatically select your perspective viewport and make it active if you try to do a hotkey while in the mel window. I'm not sure about this though.
