CGTalk - Need Modeling Help!

I'm pretty new when it comes to the world of 3D. Is there a good tutorial out there for modeling a head/full body?

I don't know what method to use that easiest, splines or box prim. If someone could shed some light on this, it would be greatly appreciated.

if you look on youtube, there are many tutorials there and some go into great detail on how to do it
