Hi I'm thinking of getting this laptop http://support.vaio.sony.eu/computing/vaio/specifications/index.aspx?l=en_GB&m=VGN-NR21J_S (Full specs in link)

But I'm not to sure on the integrated graphics: Mobile Intel Graphics Media Accelerator X3100

Will this run Maya ok for 3D modelling??

Run away from it! Integrated cards worse thing available. You should get a dedicated graphic card at least in level of HD4650 or GT230/330 unless you are modeling light stuff then you can get a HD4530's and equivalent GT's.

Yeah no good for 3D. You wouldn't get any performance out of it and you may experience display glitches/driver issues with openGL functions.
