Hi everyone ,
firstly thanks for the responces to my blend shape question
this question however is slightly more complicated

the head is done and im ready to texture
however i cant quite get the hang of this UV texture editor thing

i know u gotta cut the model up so that the front is seperate from the back and so on
however im unsure as how to proceed

if anyone can point me to a UV texturing tutorial for maya
or let me know what to do that would be great

hi,

i've done my first UV Mapping for a poly this week and it was a little nightmare for me :) but i cann tell you how i was doing this.

at first i did this automatic mapping, but with not to few pieces and with the second option (fewer pieces) after that i hit the layout UV's Button. that has stretched them a bit out. then i began and used only the move and sew tool. i did that by clicking one edge of a tiny little UV Piece lying around and then i could see the edge it belongs to. i hit moove and sew and it mooved to that edge. then you'll get an idea where the other edge belong to. so i did that again and again, and also manually manipulating UV's with the moove tool so that they ly correctly and no intersecting is happening etc.

so, i took me really hours to do that. but at the end i've got my result. if someone here has a much better and faster way a would really like to hear :D
