View Full Version : Character: Bludgeonn
hordePrime 09-07-2003, 10:05 PM This is basically my first serious attempt at using digital colors to enhance my concept drawings. This character is called Bludgeonn, a war demon who takes the form of a man to butcher the world of mortals. I'm working on this piece using a Wacom tab and Painter 8. Obviously this is a WIP, so please, crits are MORE than welcome...

Its comming along nicly. You might want to try making it's head a bit larger. It's not actually human so it's fine if you leave it small, I usually picture scary things with larger heads, full of protuding noses, grotesque foreheads and deep dark menacing eyes.
Also since his name is Blugeon I was expecting to see him holding a mace. or one of the ball and chain's. Though his sword is large and menacing it dosen't blugeon you.
Perspectivly I notice that his right elbow could be smaller. I'm not sure if it's just my eye though.
Nice start. With a title like Bludgeonn a war hammer seems to be the weapon of choice or a mace.(Any blunt object really.)
At this stage the only thing that bothers me is the scale of the head, but that is only a personal prefrence.
Keep us posted with the progress.

I agree about the weapon...Once I get to rendering it, I'll most likely make it some sort of sword/warhammer hybrid (I want it to be painfull!). As for the head, he is going to be wearing some sort of iron faceplate covered with thin horizontal slits for vision/breathing purposes.
