It seems bright, but personally I like that about it and also the floor almost seems wet in some areas or is that just my stressed-out eyes?
Cool scene!

the floor does look verpolished... if you turn down the reflection or speclarity just a bit maybe it would look less 'wet'

10x guys,
the floor is temporarely...I think I'll go for a wooden floor, it will worm up the scene a little bit.
First I model the stuff, next I light the scene and then I texture it.
There will be a character also playing the piano, a very strange character...I'll post later an update.
Cheers,

I personally would drop the DOF. It makes the piano look like small model.

:D
Max4ever : i don't like the color of the wall ... they are too white ... too clean ... maybe a little grain or something ...
keep updating !

Yes drop the dof..and open up the camera just a little to get all the piano in the main picture.
Looks great though.

1. The floor needs something better than kitchen tiles.

2. The piano shouldn't be in the middle of the composition. Consider moving it over or moving the camera to either side.

3. Goth curtains...hmm..yeah maybe? It looks like they are waving in the wind. If they are, I would show an open door or a window. If not, make them hang straight down.

4. I would change the focal length and all that to make the piano look a little bigger. It looks like a little model right now.

Other than that I think it looks good. Good luck!

Thnx robingfx, good idea with the open door. I'll change the floor also.
I'll drop the DOF a little.

ok, n-am de gand sa vb in engleza, dar tot am sa-ti povestesc impresiile mele.

prima imagine mi se pare cea mai buna ca si compozitie. da pianul mai spre spate, ca sa faci loc pianistului. dar pianul e mult prea mic. uita-te la o placa de pe jos si atunci o sa-ti dai seama. pp ca o placa are 0,5 m, atunci pianul tau are cam 1 m. cred ca in relitate are peste 1,5 m (vb de latime, banuiesc ca proportiile sunt cat de cat exacte). eu in locul tau nu as schimba podeaua. poate as face specularul si reflexia de pe gresie sa apara doar pe zonele albe, caci imi place cum se reflecta fereastra din fundal. dar as pune un covor. care sa mearga spre spate si al carui model sa se compuna bine cu hainele pianistului. spor la lucru.

those pedals dont look like they have any thickness to them, they look flat on top which they shouldn't be (ive got 3 in my house i just looked at =\

btw, i'd suggest putting Some sort of text above the keys, like stienway or mason & hamlin or just your name. it'll help with the realism, Oh. it looks like you have white /black / white /black throughout, remmeber the correct way to do it is : 3 white + 2 black together then 4 white and 3 black together. aside from that i dont see any flaws in the model. good work

It's still a mess down there...I can't figure it out how to arrange the scene...damn...:(
Youth, v-ray.
there are 2 omni lights (blue, orange) for the ambient, 2 white planes with self illumination (one in the back and another one over the armchairs),one direct light for the sunlight, the walls have 1% self illumination for brightness, light multiplyer in the vray menu is 1,7.
render time full quality is 20 minutes...I estimate the final render will take 1 hour. I intend to do an animation later.

With the number and size of windows, I would expect a lot more light in the room. Add some vray plane lights at the windows to increase the amount of bounced light in the room.

The overall quality of the renders is nice, just needs more light.

Tony

Max4ever

I must agree: it needs more light. I'll change that, 10x.
white planes at the windows won't change too much...I can raise the white multiplyer a bit and get the same result, plus if I put them there I'll block the alfa channel...I'll try some tricks.

WOW!!!

I hate to be a "fanboy" but dang man that looks good!

Looking at the doors to the left...the backdrop image looks tilted...but other than that it looks great!

iladi
09-25-2003, 06:34 PM
overall is better and better, but I have a few crits to add.
The background picture doesn't fit to well with the 3D scene from point of view of light direction. The bump of the floor is too big for a such a stylish room, I expect a much higher quality floor :). And is that a noise on the walls, or less samples? Looks weird.

Ohhh... Really cool!!!!

What is the environment??? a panorama?? please show me if it's a panorama!

Thanks!

I'm not giving up! :D
@wgreenlee1 and iladi : I've changed the image. That's noise on the walls.
@Youth no, it's not a panorama. planes mapped with self illumination.
@Terro: thnx man.
@Raul-Reznek: "dude, I see dead people..." :D

Looks great! except that something is wrong with piano. I think it's to thin but I'm not sure.

Max4ever
10-01-2003, 01:39 AM
zarkos, it's a mistake there...the legs are apart from the body. I hit render before a saw the mistake.I'll correct that, 10x.
