Hello. Im doing this Digital makeup shot for an independent film. The dead line is next saturday, and regardless of what I do 3D hand tracking just doesnt do it. it still has the movement that does not match if played at full speed. I use LW and after FX for final composit.

I would greatly applreciate any usefull tips on 3d hand tracking form you falks. Again originally this shot was not intendend to use any FX touch-ups. Please, post your comments, tips, C&C. =)

Here is the what I came up with so far:

it... needs work? She looks quite dry near the eyes. Also the colour is off, too brown and dark.

Have you tried picking out specific marks or blemishes on her face to use as rough tracking points? Ones on the nose or cheek bone would be good since they wont move as much when she changes her facial expression. Then set up nulls at the same points on your 3D face and use them to line everything up.

Her face isnt exaclty deforming, its just that her head rotates and jitters from fear. What would you use for tracking? which software?

If the background is relatively still, ICARUS's KLT tracker can pick up the 3D motion nicely and export into LW, although I don't think they have a public version anymore.

Do you know if there is chance of getting it anywhere? And what is the proce for it?

Yeah, as I expected they decided to go commercial (unfortunately they're still in R&D right now). Even with previous version you'd need a license as its for non-commercial use.

Sorry, thats the only prog I used for 3d tracking. There are other alternatives out there, you'll have to do some research.

I haven't tested it myself, but I've heard that bojou is an excellent tracking software, and the new version is just recently out. Check www.2d3.com, they've even got free tutorials there.

Btw... has anyone used Maya Live and know if it's any good/how it compares to other tracking software?
