Anyone think they know the whole mechanics of the SimpleConstraints? I dont know why, but seems like it would work in some situations and not for the others.
Here's the things that I find that it doesn't work.
1. The IK of the IK chain would not work if the goal object's motion is driven solely by another object through the use of SimpleConsttraints/Affectors. This one I found awhile back. A very big dissappointment.
2. More recently, I notice more bizarre things. It seems like SimpleConstraint really have odd behaviors on hierarchy. On a simple bone hierarchy where one is the parent of the next bone down, I notice SimpleConstraint would not work on child bone when manipulating the parent, but the oppose would work! Yeah, I can apply the SC on a parent and it would follow the child when I animate the child, but not the other way around. Other odd stuff is in a hierarchy like I mentioned, applying SC to more than one item in hierarchy gives unpredictable results. Basically, some of the constraint have the luck to work, but mostly don't.
Ok, simply put, is there anyone that can demystify the SimpleConstraint? I am rather frustrated by the random results of this tool. It feel like you could really waste several life time trying to find out all the situations, and probable situations that it would work and not work. I'll refrain myself from starting a LW bashing thread here, even though it really makes me want to slap a constructive bashing here.
