methodz 03-25-2010, 10:01 PM Hey guys,
How do you enable color per vertex information within 3ds max view port? i have 3d scan data that has color per vertex information embedded however i am not familiar with this aspect of 3ds max. any help would be great!! I am using 3ds max 2010.

You can do such attribute transfer operations inside MeshLab (http://meshlab.sourceforge.net) the free mesh processing tool.
Inside MeshLab you can (among a number of other things) transfer color from different representations (texture to vertex color and viceversa). You can find some MeshLab tutorials on http://meshlabstuff.blogspot.com
and in particular you could find interesting this entry about different color representation over a mesh (http://meshlabstuff.blogspot.com/2009/03/on-storage-of-color-in-meshes.html)
(yes in the latest beta there is the filter for transferring from per-vertex color to a texture)
