This technique is new to me, but I'm pretty excited about it.
Essentially blackish sillouhette with lighter highlit detailing. Sorta basic, but I've never had a handle on it before.

Anyone have any comments or suggestions?

I like the details you put in.
Although, it deserves a better background.

Awesome bot you got there!
But I agree with Mr. Greensock. It would look sooo much better with a background that is just as good!

Thanks guys!

A background, huh? (...sigh.) Well, okay. Strangely, I have a vague idea of what I wanna do. That's new to me for backgrounds. So, I will come up with something sooon.:)

In the meantime, I tweaked the picture above. Mainly the shoulder area and the feet.

Incidentally, I'm aware of how crazy the leg structure - or lack thereof - is, and I'll be more careful about that in the future.

Sheese.. I'm beginning to think I posted this in the wrong forum. If anyone gives me guff, I'm blaming you guys.

very interesting...nice sugestion of motion in the pose.
highlights on black make for a very tubey, plastic look. if u want a metal look u do white silhouette and black lolites i think...but it looks well on this cos it compliments the dynamic motion. makes the figure look very organic and not so blocky. would it be too much to ask to whack a muzzzzzzle flash on that boomstick? cos its all very motion based and that would add a brand new level of dynamics...!

mucho grande, i like!!!

Thanks immortal! Sorry, no muzzle flash (not yet, at least  )... but maybe you'll settle for curls of smoke and an impromtu flamethrower? if so, follow the lead...CLICK HERE FOR W.I.P. THREAD (http://www.cgtalk.com/showthread.php?s=&threadid=86898)
